Simple Joys: Watching the Wonder in a Child’s Eyes

There’s something truly special about seeing a child discover a new toy for the first time. At My Unique Wooden Toys, Darren and I get to witness that kind of joy every day — and it never gets old.

What's one of our popular items? Our fishing pole is a big hit! Of course it's used for the little ones to fish, others tell us they're using them for gender reveals to grandparents or to their husband, others are using the fishing poles with our hooks for the ring bearer to walk the rings down the aisle. We've sold many for nursery decor, showers, photo ops, the list is endless! Of course, our grandkids are always playing with the fishing poles that we have in our home. The magnetic and the hook ones are great eye/hand coordination for your growing little one. We have many different versions, painted ones, natural one, currently the natural poles with the natural fish is selling like hot cakes. The fish with that are poplar, walnut and cherry wood which come from a local lumber mill.

We don’t add batteries or plastic sound chips to our toys. We don’t need to. Because a child’s imagination is better than any programming. Our barn sets become entire homesteads. Our toy rifles and bows become tools in an afternoon adventure. And something as simple as a stick horse or ring stacker can be the starting point for hours of storytelling and play.

Our wooden stick horses come with real leather ears, leather reins and of course the option for engraving. You know it's not made in China with quality and personalization and of course, any questions, we're here to answer.

Every now and then, a parent tells us they remember having something similar as a child — and that’s exactly what we’re hoping for. A connection between generations. A return to something a little slower, more meaningful, and full of charm.
